JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the Payroll Clerk is to maintain personnel records, issue payroll, and assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR department. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Generates and maintains all personnel records of company employees.
  2. Processes all payroll data and generates payroll checks, including bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly remittances. Coordinates all payroll deductions, monitoring accuracy, and forwards to payees. Coordinates same with Office Managers at remote branch locations.
  3. Prepares and files all personnel records electronically into company database.
  4. Reconciles and remits monthly employee group Benefit premiums payments.
  5. Coordinates retention and disposal of company records per Records Retention Policy.
  6. Provides back-up and support to the Payroll Manager and assist in all other HR duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be detail-oriented
Excellent Communication skills
Ability to work with weekly deadlines
High School Diploma or the equivalent
Understanding of garnishments and tax levies is helpful
Previous experience working with an HRIS, preferably Ultimate Software
3-5 years of current payroll experience for large employer of at least 1,000 employees
