Parts Counter Associate Job Summary
Handle internal and external customer requests for parts purchases, both in person and electronically.
Earn $20 - $30 an hour depending on experience!!
Parts Counter Associate Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist customers with inquires and parts sales, in person, by phone, counters and internet
- Research customers’ requests and needs where necessary and determine correct part(s) needed.
- Review parts request from service department and provide quote for parts requested. Transfer and post all approved parts requested to work orders.
- Work with the Service Dept. to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
- If part(s) is in stock produce invoice from computer system. If not in stock and customer wants to order, create Purchase Order and process orders.
- Ability to operate machinery to perform maintenance procedure on Flywheels if needed, Emission filters & hose assembly.
- Work with all sales teams inside & out to provide solution to customers’ needs for parts and services.
- Monitor all invoices, will call pick tickets & quotes you create to conform to department guidelines.
- Resolve disputed invoices, credits and cash sales invoices.
- Participate in meetings with parts department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operation in the parts department.
- Maintain current status on all training workbooks and web base training programs.
- Maintain work area and surrounding areas for cleanliness, organization, proper supplies required to perform duties.
- Assist in maintenance of retail area, restocking shelves, merchandising of monthly & manager specials, stocking, pricing, organization of products and overall appearance.
- Assist with annual parts inventory physical count, to include actual physical counting of parts, tallying of counts, etc.
- Other Functions • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Parts Counter Associate Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Parts experience desirable.
Mechanical aptitude desirable.
Minimal computer aptitude desirable.
Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information.
Ability to operate warehouse forklift and complete formal training program.
Clearly legible handwriting.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves both sedentary and other work. For part of the shift, employee will work at a desk in a warehouse setting doing paperwork, telephoning, filing, and ten-key. For part of the shift, employee will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Lifting of at least 50 lbs. without assistance on a daily basis, as well as heavier loads with forklifts and/or additional assistance will be required. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
