JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Shop Janitor is to keep the shop, body shop and surrounding area clean and free of any and all garbage and debris for safety and appearance reasons.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Must keep all shop bays clean and neat, by sweeping and steam cleaning on a regular basis.
2. Roll up all air hoses, extension cords and water hoses when not in use.
3. Empty all garbage cans on a regular basis.
4. Keep lunchroom, bathroom and wash area clean and neat.
5.  Responsible to maintain and keep the “bone yard” in a neat, clean and organized manner, as well as the outside yard.
6.  Responsible to clean sidewalks and ashtrays.
7. Will be required to help out the shop technicians by chasing parts and assisting in any other needs.
8. Will be required to help set up and clean up, tables, chairs, garbage and equipment used for all company functions
9. Must wear the approved shop uniform and boots.
10. May be required to work Saturdays and overtime.
11. Assist Technicians as needed.
12. Other duties as needed and assigned by the Shop Foreman or Service Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Must Have a High school diploma or GED
Have organization and communication skills
Some knowledge of heavy trucks and the trucking industry desirable
Must have the ability to lift up to 75lbs on a regular basis
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR
Must have the ability to drive and run a forklift or be trained to do so
