Finance Salesperson Job Summary

The primary function of the Finance Salesperson is to market retail financing service to customers of Kenworth Sales Company in support of their new and used equipment merchandising programs.



Finance Sales Representative Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Actively solicits retail finance customers from existing Company accounts, new accounts and sales prospects. Works closely with the KWS Sales Team. Obtains required documentation and applications from customers for submission to finance sources.
  2. Negotiates retail finance rates with customer and retail finance sources. Minimizes expense to customer while maximizing earnings to Company and limiting recourse liability of Company. Educates customers on lender differences outside of rates.
  3. Follows all procedures governing administration of Company’s day-to-day retail financing activities.
  4. Serves as liaison with various retail finance lending institutions in addition to Transport Finance (KWSCO).
  5. Assists truck sales in preparing sales documentation (licensing, title application, title work, down payment, lien perfection, insurance, and other) and handles the “closing” requirements on finance deals involving retail financing sources.
  6. Maintains complete records and credit files on all active deals in a secure environment and transitions completed files to electronic storage prior to destroying.
  7. Provides regular status reports to the Corporate F&I Manager with appropriate commentary.
  8. Coordinates and cooperates with all functional and staff managers.
  9. Performs such other duties requested by management, including back-up for other finance employees.
  10. Will be required to travel within and outside the State, both by car and by airplane.
 

Finance Salesperson Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in English and Spanish.  High school diploma or the equivalent.  Some knowledge of heavy trucks and the trucking industry.  Two years’ experience in financing plus two years general office experience.  Ability to use and understand multiple types of computer programs. Excellent organization, communication, and sales skills.


Finance Sales Representative Reports To Region Sales Manager.


WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves both sedentary and other work.  For part of the shift, s/he will work at a desk in an office setting, doing paperwork, typing, filing, and keying entries.  Extensive telephone and correspondence work required on a daily basis.  For part of the shift, s/he will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers.  S/he will be required to travel within and outside the State, both by car and by airplane.  Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
