JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the Service Manager is the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Service Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates capacity status throughout the day with Parts department.
- Greet customers, identify their needs and assigns the work to Service Technicians based upon their skill level and the time-of-completion.
- Personally performs quality control checks of workmanship on each service project.
- Coordinates communication between Foreman and Service Technician regarding recommended services, changes in repairs, costs, and time-of-completion.
- Work with Foreman in monitoring efficiency on each Technician.
- Identify technician needs to help improve their skill level and work performance through better supervision, work assignment, and training.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Two years of experience as a heavy duty truck repair technician.
Working knowledge of all heavy truck repair methods.
One year supervisory experience preferred but not required.
Exhibits good communication and self-management skills.
Valid Commercial Driver's License and good driving record.
Professional personal appearance.
