Kenworth Sales Co. is looking for a Warranty Administrative Clerk to join our Salt Lake City, UT team.
Salary Minimum and Maximum: $23-$32 an hour depending on experience!

Job Summary: The primary function of the Warranty Administrator is to oversee all warranty claims to Kenworth Truck, Paccar, Caterpillar, Cummins and /or any other Vendor affiliated with Kenworth Sales.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains working relationship with all manufacturers and/or distributors of warranted trucks, parts, and services:
- Maintains working understanding of all warranty policies and procedures of such vendors and stays up-to-date with new literature.
- Communicates with vendors on a regular and as-needed basis to discuss all warranty claims and procedures.
- Maintains necessary warranty certification requirements as required by manufacturers and/or distributors.
- Maintains working understanding of company warranty policies as issued and amended from time to time.
- Maintains positive working relationships with customers and company employees by providing timely assistance, accurate information, and clear guidance to help expedite warranty-related inquiries and warranty claim status. Communicates in a courteous, professional, and solution-oriented manner while addressing and resolving warranty-related questions and concerns.
- Collects, organizes, and maintains all required warranty documentation from customers and/or company employees ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reviews and processes service repair orders for on-the spot warranty credits and issues other customer credits, as necessary, within approved limits established by manufacturers, distributors, and company guidelines.
- Prepare and submit warranty claims to appropriate manufacturers within 10 days of the completion of work, while maintaining compliance with manufacturer requirements and company standards.
- Administers parts return requests in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all return and shipment instructions are properly communicated. Maintains control of the warranty parts inventory by updating records with current claim information to facilitate return requests, core credits, and proper parts disposition. Assist with parts shipping activities and warranty storage management as needed.
- Manages submitted warranty claims through final resolution, including investigating, correcting, and resubmitting denied or rejected claims to maximize manufacturer reimbursement. Monitors warranty aging to ensure claims are processed within established standards, communicates claim payment/denials details with management, and posts warranty payments or credits as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information. Two years’ experience in office administration. Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills. Some knowledge of heavy truck automotive parts, including engines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Good attitude and willingness to work as a team. Hard worker, self-motivated and detail orientated. Excellent typing skills.
Working Conditions:
This position involves both sedentary and physically demanding work. For part of the shift, s/he will work at a desk in an office setting, doing paperwork, filing, and key entry on a computer video monitor. For part of the shift, s/he may climb stairs, climb in and out of vehicles, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
