Power BI Developer Job Summary:
Kenworth is seeking a skilled Microsoft Power BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be part of a small team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role involves working closely with various departments to understand their data needs and deliver capabilities and dashboards that drive enhanced business performance and profitability.
Power BI Developer Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Clearly convey the key insights or "story" the data reveals in a visual format that is grouped, summarized, or formatted to be easily understood and actionable.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders from different departments to gather requirements and understand their data reporting and visualization needs.
3. Creates and optimizes SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
4. Create visually appealing graphics and charts that enhance data comprehension and facilitate actionable insights.
5. Develop, publish, schedule reports and dashboards to meet business requirements.
6. Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and dashboards.
7. Develop and maintain SQL Databases, Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, etc.
8. Stay up to date with the latest features and updates in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
Power BI Developer Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Business, Statistics or equivalent work or educational experience required. Minimum 5 years using databases in an environment with large-scale, disparate, complex datasets required. In depth experience working independently and/or collaboratively throughout the complete analytics project lifecycle, required. Advanced SQL skills required. Proven experience in creating data visualizations using Power BI or similar tools (e.g., Tableau). Strong understanding of data modeling, data transformation, and data visualization principles. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to articulate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering strong relationships across departments. Experience with DAX for advanced calculations and data modeling. Familiarity with Power Query, Power BI Service, SQL, and SSMS or similar tools. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
Working Conditions
This position involves both sedentary and other work. For part of the shift, s/he will work at a desk in an office setting, doing paperwork, typing, filing, and key entry on a Video Display Terminal. Extensive telephone and correspondence work required on a daily basis. For part of the shift, s/he will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. S/he will be required to travel within and outside the State, both by car and by airplane on a monthly basis. Will be exposed to noise,
dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials
