This is a Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm shift. 

BODY SHOP TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Body Shop Technician is to perform body and paint work on customer equipment in a superior and thorough manner. 
 

BODY SHOP TECHNICIAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

        1. Has knowledge and ability to perform heavy duty rebuild/repair/replace of body panels and paint/refinish steps used to recondition heavy duty vehicles  back to OEM quality and follow all safety standards
        2. Maintains a regular working knowledge and familiarity with all EPA and OSHA documentation as required by applicable government health and safety regulations including OSHA and EPA  guidelines. 
        3. Performs work directed by Body Shop Manager in a timely and thorough manner. Maintains superior standard of workmanship in all services performed. 
        4. Advises Body Shop Manager of any recommended changes in services ordered by customer. 
        5. Determines if any further servicing should be recommended to customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Body Shop Manager. 
        6. Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized materials, equipment, machinery, and body working techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment.    
        7. Attends training sessions as required to maintain current knowledge and correct repair procedures to accurately and safely perform OEM repair/replacement on all makes and models of heavy duty equipment. 
        8. Perform additional services/tasks as required to maintain an elevated level of  customer satisfaction and service in the industry

 

BODY SHOP TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Two years of experience as a vehicle body repairer or apprentice.
Working knowledge of body repair methods. Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of Axalta paint products, CDL, and mechanical aptitude a plus.
Ability to perform journeyman body shop repair/refinish with minimal supervision.



WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes and a variety of other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
